The Whitsundays is excited to announce that come November, the popular holiday destination will have its first full service five star resort on the mainland. A serious upgrade is currently underway at the famous Mirage Whitsundays resort which will see it receive construction of a new fine dining restaurant and health centre and a new five star rating.
Although Pinnacles Resort and Spa is rated five stars, it falls under the self-catering category. However following above expected performance of the Mirage since its August 2015 opening, the resort is not receiving this exceptionally exciting upgrade, taking it to the first five star resort on the mainland of the Whitsundays.
This will mean that the mainland is now finally able to offer the same level of service offered by nearby islands such as Hamilton and Hayman. The Mirage has now earned itself the reputation of being an accommodation pioneer now that it will finally provide the mainland with five star service. This is exciting news not just for the Mirage but also for Airlie Beach as a whole as there is now a new level of accommodation that doesn't require travel to an island.
The project has been taken on by Airlie Builders and is expected to be completed by mid-November. Although the restaurant and spa operators are yet to be announced, the new facilities already boast an exciting level of indulgence. The restaurant will feature three levels of dining, each with ocean views as well as an extended terrace, open-plan living, VIP room and a lovely soft beach design. The health centre is also set to offer some outstanding facilities including four private massage rooms and a gymnasium which will allow both residents and onsite guests access to a range of fitness facilities.
