Rev heads rejoice as the Whitsundays Festival of Motoring announces its 2019 inaugural event.
With a proposed date of the 3rd - 5th May, the three-day extravaganza will be held across multiple well known locations in the Whitsundays Coast with an aim to show off the natural wonders of Queensland.
Running through the main streets of local towns, the 120km track will be split into multiple stages and feature many twists and turns where the local community can spectate and cheer from the sidelines.
Key spectator points include Bowen Town Centre, The Grand View Hotel, Bowen Foreshores and town streets.
Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Whitsundays, Tash Wheeler stated that the event will significantly boost tourism to the Whitsunday and ensure successful growth of the destination for future festivals and events.
“We are hopeful the event will also offer us a great opportunity to flaunt the natural wonders of our beautiful Whitsundays region on a national and gradually on an international stage."
"Events in Queensland generated more than $780M in economic benefit to the economy last year. We see this as a great opportunity to showcase the stunning and diverse Whitsundays landscape to many visitors that may not have had the destination on the calendar prior to the Whitsundays Festival of Motoring,” she said.
With entertainment on offer for the whole family, from music and food stalls to parades and display shows, the Whitsundays Festival of Motoring is for more than just motor enthusiasts.
The festival will be held in multiple locations over the weekend throughout the Whitsundays including, Hydeaway Bay Airlie Beach, Bowen Town Centre, Coral Sea Marina, Tonker Park. Proserpine and Flagstaff Hill.
The official after party venue and social headquarters will be at the Mantra Club croc.
