The Whitsundays has positioned itself as an area of growth and it appears that national brands agree, with a number of national retailers investing in the region. Indicating confidence in the region, local real estate is seeing a number of national retailers recently leasing properties in and around Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays.

Conducting serious research before committing to a region, national brands such as liquor store BWS, Boost Juice and Mexican restaurant chain Zambrero have decided to express their confidence in the Whitsundays region by leasing property and bringing their brands to town. Joining the incredible scenery and lifestyle that are some of the biggest Whitsunday attractions, these national brands are also expected to be quite a drawcard with visitors.

In recent year, the Whitsundays commercial leasing market has experienced a major shift. Just two years ago the vacancy level of the main street was sitting at around 30% however this is no longer the case with only a handful of vacant spaces remaining in the main street of Airlie Beach and other national brands looking to open an outlet in the Whitsundays.

The shift isn't just limited to the centre of Airlie Beach either with modern business centres in and around the Whitsundays and Cannonvale beginning to fill up after years of vacancy. Reef Plaza, the newest retail development in Cannonvale boasts recognised brands such as Sports Power and McDonalds and only has one vacancy remaining in the entire building.

The shift has been welcomed by locals and visitors alike who are looking forward to familiar national brands and the price competitiveness they bring. It will also make it easier for residents and tourists to get their hands on the food, beverages and brands they love.
